Multipurpose General Cleaner (1 Gal)

Concentrated vinegar is a widely used, versatile, and cost-effective alternative to many harmful and expensive commercial cleaning products. Its suggested uses are numerous:

• Adjusting the pH of soil and water
• Cleaning patios, driveways, and removing odors from laundry
• Polishing chrome and metal, as well as removing soap scum and hard water stains

As a general-purpose cleaner, vinegar can be diluted in two ways:

Regular Use: 1 part vinegar to 9 parts water Deep Clean: 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water

The diluted solution should be sprayed directly onto the surface, allowed to stand for 15 minutes, and then scrubbed with a sponge, cloth, or brush as needed to remove buildup and stains. The surface should then be thoroughly rinsed with water.

For garden use, vinegar can be used at full strength with any type of pressure sprayer. However, users should note that the spray nozzles should be made of plastic or 316 stainless steel, as the vinegar will corrode other metals over time. Overspray or drift should be avoided, as it may affect non-target vegetation.

It is important to unplug any electrical appliances before using vinegar for cleaning. Stronger dilutions are not recommended for use on natural stone, wood, or other varnished surfaces, and spot testing on other surfaces is advised before use. Vinegar should not be mixed with other household cleaners.
